A Few Things to Know Before You Apply

We are a small but mighty rescue, and while we’re growing every day, we’re currently only able to adopt within the state of Florida. If you’re in Northeast Florida, we’ll be able to begin your application process right away. We’re happy to accept applications from throughout the state, but those may take a little more time—thank you for your patience while we work through them!

For our younger pugs, we have a few special requirements to ensure their success: a fenced yard, someone who works from home, and no more than two resident pets.

If you live outside of Florida, we’d love for you to continue following our rescue—you’ll be the first to know when we’re ready to expand!

Steps to Adopt

1. Submit a $20 Application Donation (non-refundable)
You can make your donation here: https://givebutter.com/ApplicationDonation
Once we receive your donation, we’ll email you the link to complete the adoption application.

2. Fill Out the Adoption Application
Tell us about your home, daily routine, and what you're hoping for in a pug companion. The more detail you share, the better we can match you!

3. Send Us Vet Records
We require proof of annual exams, vaccinations, and heartworm prevention for the past three years for all current or past pets in your home. After submitting your application, please email all vet records to coastalpugteam@gmail.com.

4. Phone Call
Once your vet records are reviewed and approved, we’ll reach out to schedule a phone call. Please note: if vet records aren’t submitted, we won’t be able to move forward with your application.

5. Home Check & Perfect Match
A volunteer will schedule a home check so we can get to know you better and ensure we find the best pug match for your home and lifestyle.

These seasoned Pugs often cherish quality time curled up on your lap, relishing the warmth and comfort of human company. They embody the epitome of a "lap dog," offering unconditional love and loyalty to their human companions. So, for those seeking a faithful friend to share cozy moments with, an older Pug may be the perfect match.
